Frana Kalmus Baruch is a Graphic Designer, Teacher, Artist and Mom. For years, she was a corporate Graphic Designer working with organizations such as The New York City Transit Authority, Citicorp, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Planned Parenthood, Clinique International and The Culinary Institute of America. She presently has a home-based studio and is proud to be working for clients such as Merriweather’s (natural cosmetics & soaps) and the Children’s Media Project in Poughkeepsie.

Frana loves working in pen and ink, oils, collage and experimenting with variou mediums; bringing out “personality” in her art making each piece unique. She teaches art classes which emphasize the joy of the process and the uniqueness of each student’s work. Her passion for art was inspired by her father Harry Kalmus, an award winning photographer. Both Frana’s parents encouraged her to pursue her interests at an early age.

Frana is a graduate of Pratt Institute, where she majored in Graphic Design and minored in Illustration. Along with these interests, she continues to study art history. She is proud to be a member of the Tivoli Artist’s Co-op and shows her work often. Their encouragement has continued to fuel her creative energy.
